Just days after Brynn’s 7th birthday,

our world was turned upside down. What we thought was a simple hospital visit for shortness of breath quickly became our worst nightmare. Imaging revealed a massive tumor in her chest, and within days, she was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma.

Brynn faced an initial nine months of grueling treatment.

We hoped the hardest work was behind us but after a short six month reprieve, Brynn relapsed in February 2020. Explaining to Brynn that her cancer was back—that she would have to endure the hard things all over again—was devastating, especially knowing that this time, she fully understood what was ahead. Little did we know that for the next four years, she would bravely endure multiple relapses, including tumor spread to her brain, intense surgeries, countless hospital stays, and endless doctor appointments.

Despite it all, Brynn refused to let childhood cancer define her.

Never dying, always living

“Never dying, always living” truly embodied how Brynn approached life during her five-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. She was determined to live as normally as possible, seeking joy and laughter every single day. Through her treatments, she embraced life—playing soccer and volleyball, riding horses weekly, raising baby bunnies, attending school part-time, pranking nurses and doctors, playing with friends and family, hanging with her people at her favorite non-profit NEGU, creating YouTube videos about her dogs, and finding something good in every hard day.

We believe…

We believe Brynn was able to truly "live life" because we focused on the health of her whole being. Advocating for her physical, emotional, social and mental health allowed her to thrive in ways that extended beyond her diagnosis and prognosis.

On April 7, 2024…

Brynn took her final breath. She is the heartbeat of this organization—our why. She taught us how to keep living, even when life feels unbearably hard. May we honor her by empowering and supporting other childhood cancer families to live as full lives as possible…
